We had an excellent impression, both in service and the state of the facilities. Perfectly located for a business trip, spacious, clean room with excellent views over the Bay. Suitable 24-hour fitness center, and a very good breakfast service.
At the beginning it may be confusing to go to the rooms, because it is inside an office building and to get to the lobby you should go up to the 25th floor and then down to the rooms.
To go to the pool and tennis courts, you have to cross the valet parking to another small building, which is awkward, because you have to pass by all the people in swimsuits.
The staff is friendly in general and especially in the restaurant. If breakfast is not included, 24USD is to me a little expensive for what is offered because there is not a lot of variety of dishes, though the variety of cheeses is a dream.
Sometimes you book a room and then you get another, e.g. I met some friends who had reserved a king with bay view room and doing the check-in, the hotel told them that they had given them a “complimentary upgrade” to a room overlooking the Bay. When they arrived at the room, yes it had Bay view, but it was a normal bed, they called to complain and say that they preferred view of the city but with the king bed that they reserved (for my concept, an upgrade is better than the original, not a more uncomfortable reservation) and were told that the hotel was full. They promised them to change the next day to a king with sea view to compensate the error and the new room ended up being city view but king bed.
The rooms are generally comfortable and good size. The common areas are pleasing to the eye because they are pieces of art. There is a “reshaping” part at the lobby but it is temporary.
Another advantage is that if you are looking for good location in Brickell, this hotel is perfect: but take a note, Brickell area is the financial district and is far from the tourist zone at South Beach.
